Zetterbergs is a major supplier of truck body products in the Nordic market. Based on CrossTalk, CrossControl's generic control system platform, a system solution for Zetterbergs unique needs has been developed and deployed in Zetterbergs range of products. The control system is open ended and configurable in order to cover Zetterbergs different truck body products, each with a rich set of options. Compared with the previous solution, the new system makes it possible for Zetterbergs to offer even higher degree of customisation while at the same time heavily reducing the engineering effort and installation cost for each supplied truck body.

About the system
The system is based on CrossControl´s CrossTalk platform, a generic system platform for machine controls. With its CANopen backbone and CoDeSys soft PLCs, CrossTalk is an open ended platform. This has made it easy to implement Zetterbergs’s specific needs in terms of both software and hardware integration.

The system master is a CrossFire FX1 controller which runs a CoDeSys soft PLC. The soft PLC enables Zetterbergs to easily develop, test and maintain the control application. A CC Pilot XS display computer runs the graphical user interface application.

System high-light: Efficient customisation
The Zetterbergs system solution has an embedded configuration tool. The equipment options for a unique customer order is fed into the configuration tool by using the touch screen interface of the display. The configuration tool then enables the customised functionality in the control system master. This results in a Graphical User Interface (GUI), running on the CC Pilot XS, and a control application, running on CrossFire FX1, both tailored for each delivered truck body.
