Products and product parts go through a life cycle: First they are developed. After their release, they are available for sale and are actively maintained, i.e. security gaps are closed, bugs are fixed, and enhancements usually take place.
If we decide not to continue operating a product in this form, it enters a service phase. In this phase, we no longer sell the product for use in new projects, and we no longer maintain it on our own initiative. However, existing customers still have the option of ordering troubleshooting as a service.
The final phase of the product cycle is discontinuation. This can affect a complete product, but also parts or certain features of it.
